A very nice gentlemen (Tim originally from Buffalo, NY) was kind enough to give me a full tour of the building's 1st and 2nd floors. Fairbury was the HQ for the Rock Island's Western division (Des Moines to Denver). The building was well maintained with a ton of Rock Island and other railroad artifacts. Tim indicated the UP Big Boy would be at the depot the very next weekend after we were there.
